Just watched the documentary on Netflix tonight and wanted to say I am SO sorry this happened. It was totally avoidable, IMHO. NO child deserves this. It's so unfair.

This is one of the most compelling and saddest stories I have seen in a very long time. My heart and thoughts goes out to the Kate and David who have endured one of the most cruelist injustices of America's legal system - it has left me speechless. Thank you for sharing. MJC - New Zealand

She was my sister but I wish David had killed her; I wish I had. I know what Kate and Andrew saw because I saw it too. She messed up a lot of lives, her children, our whole family, but most of all Mr. and Mrs. Bagby. My heart, the little bit I have left, goes out to you both.

Kate and David you are amazing human beings. It is unimaginable what you have gone through. A million sorry's and sympathy's could never feel like enough. I have thought of you, of Andrew and Zachary and of your friends and family every day since I've seen this film. I think I will think of you and your story for a long time.
Kurt what an amazing thing you have done for Andrew, his son, and their family. This is a very important story to be told and a beautiful film in remembrance of your wonderful friend.

OMG, this story was so very sad. Even though I've seen the show a few times, (recording), I just cry every time I watch this story. My heart absolutely goes out to Kate & David. It had to have been unbelievably hard to bare kindness to this mentally ill woman. The pain and emotion in their words and facial expressions are absolutely heartbreaking. Is there any way to send them a heartfelt message of support? I'm so impressed with the work Kate & David are doing in honor of their beloved son and grandson, that I've just ordered the DVD and poster. What wonderful parents and grandparents they are. Everyone should be so lucky. The anger I feel, as well as everyone else,....how can the system be so screwed up? Get your head outa the sand!

This was an incredible documentary that I am now recommending to all my friends who have Netflix.
It was really well done, how the filmmaker let the story unfold, and all the effort he put into his portrayal of his friend's life and the course of events.
Mr. and Mrs. Bagby are truly the most amazing people I have ever seen in my life. You can see how loving and special they have been throughout their lives. I cannot believe the grace they possess. I can't imagine their capacity to endure, and to become activists and to continue to inspire. David must be watching from above, bursting with pride.

I wish he had killed her and saved the baby. you could see this coming. what I think is saddest in this world is that in any court system no one cares.....until people deal with courts on a personal level they do not know, do not believe how horrific they are and don't care. when it happens to them is the only time people care. even u.s. courts are horrid. these people sit and play god in peoples lives and no one cares until it affects them. we live in a sad and sick world.

I came across this documentary on Netflix, it has been in my queue for awhile....thought it would be a bit depressing to watch, but was intrigued. I am very glad that I finally watched it. It was a very humbling and empowering documentary.Humbling, because, I would hope to have half as much strength if ever faced with such evils as the Bagby's had to endured and endure.Empoweing because the Bagby's are an example to us that as human beings, if we now a change is needed, we can make it happen.(It may not be easy, but it is worth the effort.)Thanks to them and thanks Kurt for making this film. Bless them and their family and friends.

I have just now watched Dateline and sit here with tears filled in my eyes. What a heart breaking story. My heart goes out to the Bagby's - what strong people you are! It is so true in your statement that God is sad with you. I haven't researched more to see what justice you have been able to bring to what happened to your family but I pray you have. Keep strong and your faith will continue to get you through each day. You both are such remarkable people to have raised such a wonderful son and what you went thru to be so close to your grandson.

I watched this story on Dateline on July 24/10 - I felt so frustrated and outraged at the Canadian Justice System- it is beyond belief!!! How crazy are they?? Imagine putting a child in the hands of a psychopath accused of murdering his father!!!! - My heart goes out to David and Kate Bagby for what they have had to endure - first their son and then their grandson. Where do they get their strength to keep on? The people who allowed Zachary to be in custody of a psychopath should be sent to the US to be tried for being accessories to this horrifc murder. At least in the USA their is some justice unlike Canada where the victimizer has all the rights and the victims keep getting victimized to death!!!!

I haven't seen this movie, but what a gift you've given to the family. I heard about Zachary, his father and grandparents watching Dateline the other night. It is an honor for an outsider, such as myself, to have gotten to know of their amazing hearts. What a dear friend you are for having put this together. God bless you! The faith of the grandmother is absolutely inspiring. I'm terribly sorry for your loss...

i saw the report on dateline a few days back. i will be forever changed by that moving story. andrew seemed like a an amazing man. god bless him, zachary and andrews even more amazing parents.

I am so brokenhearted for Andrew's family and friends. I can't imagine the pain that this has caused. I hope that everyone will remember that Andrew is in Heaven with Zachary. Wouldn't be awesome to see how happy they are together and to have seen Andrew's face when he saw him for the first time?! Father and Son are together. I pray that they will all find strength day to day with The Lord. God Bless you all!
